Students may work on paper or canvas using acrylic paints only—no oils.

This Is Your Studio Time

This is not a lecture series. You’ll spend three hours painting, experimenting, and developing your own work.

• Beginners receive guided instruction and support.

• Bring your own projects for one-on-one instruction and feedback.

• Demonstrations are provided as needed.

• Explore composition, color, layering, mark-making, and self-expression.

• Inspiration is drawn from Abstract Expressionism and the freedom of personal expression.

• Play is essential. This class is not for children, but it is designed to help you reconnect with the curiosity and freedom of play.

I think the strongest line in this version is “My goal is not to teach you how to paint like me. It is to help you discover how you paint.” That captures the difference between your class and a traditional technique-based painting class very well.
